In this video Dr. Paul Walley interviews Duncan Green on the application of systems thinking in Oxfam. Green identifies that systems thinking has been used to help Oxfam to ‘zoom out’ on situations of interest to understand, reframe and ask better questions. One result is the creation of better interventions. From this you can understand why ‘results’ are difficult to quantify. Better interventions eclipse the previous approaches that specified projects upfront and delivered against a faulty plan. Instead, more time is spent thinking and adapting throughout.
